Aberdeen next for bus lane enforcement

Following on from Glasgow and Edinburgh, it looks like Aberdeen is next to bring in civil bus lane enforcement.  A total of 11 locations are due to be set live at the end of March, although in typical local authority fashion, the exact switch-on date is not given.

As is always the case when these systems are launched, we can expect a lot of complaints and appeals once PCNs start to be issued.  Hopefully Aberdeen have done their homework in terms of signs being adequate, and have learned from Edinburgh’s mistakes so that they are not forced to later close or cancel bus lanes and refund thousands of PCNs.

The basic cost of a bus lane PCN is £30, rising to £60 if not paid within 14 days.
