Cheltenham Borough Council have just published a press release stating that from April 1st they will be handing responsibility for on-street parking enforcement to Gloucestershire County Council, via APCOA. This will potentially affect the listing on this site as Cheltenham do currently offer online PCN viewing. How this will be handled once APCOA take over we will have to wait and see, as the Gloucestershire website doesn’t currently appear to offer this.
From 1 April 2013, Cheltenham Borough Council will hand back responsibility for on-street car parking enforcement in the borough to Gloucestershire County Council (GCC).
However, Cheltenham Borough Council will continue to manage car parking arrangements in its own car parks.
The county council has undergone a procurement process to let a county-wide contract with APCOA, a private company that will manage on-street parking enforcement and virtual parking permits on its behalf.
This means from 1 April 2013 on street Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) enquiries and payment will be managed by APCOA rather than Cheltenham Borough Council. However Cheltenham Borough Council will still manage PCNs for its own car parks. Further details can be found here.
