It’s been interesting to follow the introduction of civil parking enforcement in Lincolnshire. It didn’t take long after going live for complaints to start coming in, and the most recent update from the local news is that more have now been issued in error.
It appears that during their annual Christmas market, NSL enforcement officers issued some 389 PCNs to motorists for parking offences. Many of these motorists were either local residents with permits, or had special market access permits. As is often the case, the council have apologised but have put the onus on drivers to dispute tickets if they believe they were issued incorrectly.
John Latham of Lincoln City Council said:
“This is a matter we are taking very seriously as we do not want people having to pay for fines when they were parking legally.”
